About me

I'm a professional actress and voiceover artist based in Warwickshire, England and have recently re-awakened my passion for film.

So far since March this year I've been a flirty eco-warrior, a bald, hideous brain slave, an illegal immigrant, a zombie (complete with maggots in my ear!), the lady of the lake (but in a bathtub, what with it being 2008 and all), a vampire (thrice!), and a devious, manipulative and thoroughly naughty temptress of a villain. I appear to be attracting rather odd parts at the moment which is great because I LOVE that kind of thing.

I'm dedicated, creative, analytical and I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty. Oh, and I smile a lot.

My Favourite Things

Films:
Amelie, Star Wars (Empire Strikes back was definitely the best), Pan's Labyrinth, When Harry Met Sally, Love and Sex, Anchorman (or anything similarly juvenile).
Music:
Almost anything. Music changes and enhances my mood so it can vary from classical to hard, angry rock and anything in between. I'm currently very much enjoying Muse, Kate Nash, Iron and Wine and angry shouty music (which probably gives a clue about my mental state!).
Books:
I'm a fantasy fiction gal at heart so Guy Gavriel Kay has to be in there somewhere (A Song for Arbonne is my favourite). Also anything by Terry Pratchett, 'A Short History of Nearly Anything' by Bill Bryson, 'The Human Mind' by Robert Winston, any of the New Scientist books and The Princess Bride.
Artist:
John William Waterhouse was a genius. I love all that romantic pre-raf stuff. Give me long hair, a floaty dress and a man on a horse and I'm happy.
Sports/Activities:
Verbal jousting and the eyebrow high-jump.
My heroes are:
Hmmm... I don't know. Does Lara Croft count? She's pretty cool.
Thing's I have done:
Gained a BSc in Experimental Psychology, been paid to lie on the floor of a forest with maggots in my ear, learned to bricklay and weld, utterly failed to climb Mt. Snowdon. I've also just had a life cast done of my face as part of a living art project a friend is doing and it freaks me the hell out!
Up and Coming:
Just finished filming 4 films: a short called 'Home' in which I played an illegal immigrant, the horror feature 'Within the Woods' the sci-fi feature 'Schrodinger's Girl' and most recently I played a vampire named Daisy in the romantic comedy short 'Blood Actually' which should, with luck and some good public feedback, be turned into a full feature at some point. All four are due out later this year.
On top of that I've got two more features and 3 shorts lined up, my favourite of which will be playing the devious, evil and utterly filthy Sarah Smith in the feature 'Wasters', shooting this June. Watch this space!

The three things we look for in an actor/actress are talent, a great look, and a fantastic voice - Amelia has all three in abundance. If you're looking to cast a hugely charismatic lead, she's your girl! Oh, and did I mention - she makes a great femme-fatale!!! :D
