- Thing's I have done:
-
I have had singing lessons for three years and in this time I have performed in Blackpool, Lytham and Fleetwood festivals. In the last festival I received second place in the sacred solo class where I sang "Oh for the wings of a dove" and third place in the songs from the show class where I sang "Think of me" from phantom of the opera. I am currently on grade five.
I have had drama lessons for five years. I am currently working towards my bronze medal in the Lamda examinations and I am soon to be taking a musical theatre exam.
Last year I played the role of Cinderella in the pantomime "Cinderella" at the the Bond Hotel in Blackpool. We did the pantomime to raise money so that the hotel could improve its facilities and be made bigger to cater for the people with disabilities who go there for there holidays. I also helped with the production and script. This has helped me to be able to work with all audiences no matter how loud they are.
I played Mrs Johnstone in Blood Brothers last May, the Director was Ian Clark and this also gave me the opportunity to develop a different accent. This was the first time I had worked with younger children (Mrs Johnston’s children) which I enjoyed and I believe they did too.
I have also played the title role in "Snow White" and Crystal in Little Shop of Horrors which was produced by John Pennington and directed by Rosy Withers. This helped me to be able to perfect harmonies.
I am a member of Lata (Lytham academy of theatrical arts) and have been there for three years. We do acting, singing and dancing and then perform a big musical and the end of the term at the Lowther pavilion.
I have always been in the choirs at school and I sang in a big concert at the ice rink with my last school choir. I am also a member of St.Cuthbert's choir and I have sung many solos for weddings and funerals as well as the first verse in "One in royals David's city" Last Christmas.
I went to rainbow dance studios from the age of 2-14. I did my grade 4 modern exam and my grade 5 ballet exam. I also performed in a pantomime each year.
Last summer I went to the "West End Stage" summer school. We did a week of acting singing and dancing and we were taught by some of the West end professionals. At the end of the week we performed a show case at "Her Majesty's theatre" I sang the female solo in "seasons of love" from the musical Rent. For the last three summers I have helped at a drama workshop for younger children, which have improved my leadership skills and also have helped me work with younger children.
Recently I played Maureen in the comedy “Stags and Hens” This helped me to improve my comic timing and play a character completely different to me. I am soon to play Catherine (Kitty) in pride and prejudice.
I am comfortable with accents such as Scouse, well spoken, posh, Lancashire and Cockney. I have taken drama for GCSE and I am predicted an A*. Next year I am planning to continue my education at King Edward and Queen Mary's sixth form.
- Up and Coming:
- I am playing Kitty in Pride and Prejudice, I am in Seussical the musical, I am Playing Lea in a film named "Mad Mistakes" which i wrote the script for and i am helping with the directing.
