About me

In between all the corporate stuff that pays the bills, I sometimes get actors to pretend to be weird people in front of crews that look at me like I need to be put away somewhere.

More seriously, I'm the author of a book called "Filming on a Microbudget", which tells you most of what you need to know to make a short film, and I occasionally run courses that do the same thing but are a lot more fun to watch.

Hi Paul,

Thanks for the constructive criticism. With all due respect, the narrative is there, albeit a simple 'escape to nature' romp. I feel that with short films below a certain length you have to avoid the explanation and reasoning behind psychology of characters that feature length films have the capability of showing with more depth. The aesthetic with this film is certainly with the stylistics and the jumble of narrative, although I have never used the term 'art' as an excuse to explain the metaphor; I wouldn't consider a film art without an auteur behind it.

On another note, I have been looking at some of your shorts and the few i've seen have really been shot well and the acting has been very believable.

Thanks again

Mike

Paul is a twisted genius. I'd call him a 'mad' genius but he'd enjoy that far too much...

All you need to know is that he's an incredibly talented bloke who always comes up with films that are delightfully unexpected and utterly brilliant. He's a hoot to work with too!

Although Paul Hardy may look 100 years old (as it says in his profile), his energy and mental dexterity belie this fact
