Description

Robin K Langdon is a composer, arranger, performer and entertainer.

Composer

Robins main love is composing and he composes in a wide range of styles being influenced from punkrock to classical, from film scores to Romantic song cycles.

Some of his latest works include:

A suite for symphonic wind orchestra, (premiered by the Southampton University Symphonic Wind Orchestra on Sunday 2nd March - St Mary's Church, Southampton).

Wedding Music for a euphonium fanfare band.

Short pieces for piano.

And he is currently working on a musical and a study book for euphonium.

Arranger

Robin has also studied arranging and arranges for a wide selction of ensembles.

Robin would really like to colloborate and compose for film and TV and is always happy to help.

Performer and Entertainer

From the age of 9 when he had his first blow on the euphonium, Robin was sure it was the instrument for him. It took him a year of bugging his parents to convince them but eventually they gave in and he began having lessons from the tuba player Richard Fox.

He progressed through the grades and various wind orchestras and ended up at Southampton University studying for a BA Music, in performance and composition.

Robin currently plays in several groups on both euphonium and trombone including,

Mellifluous Brass Quintet

Subb Zero Big Band
